Next Step Scholarship Program
Emmanuel began its Next Step Scholarship Program in 2014 to assist youth in their transition from the orphanage to independent life outside. There are currently ten youth that qualify for the program, and eight more that will reach eligibility within the next year. Our current candidates are:
Ana Darlenis Claros Gomez #676
Elvia Marina Garcia Erazo #1021
Glenda Suyapa Fuentes Verde #337
Kenia Pamela Ruiz Cruz #391
Alexander Ortiz Banegas #11
German Lorenzo Perez #168
Miguel Angel Silva Medina #132
Miguel Rafael Maradiaga Sanchez #25
Selvin Fernando Ramirez #134
Selvin Josue Amador Rodriguez #464
In order to be involved in this program, youth must:
- be at least 18 years of age
- have completed their formal education (Junior High or High School)
- have given one year of service back to Emmanuel after graduation.
Youth will choose between three options as they begin their transition out of the orphanage.
Plan A is financial assistance for housing only, which will last a duration of 6 months.
Plan B includes 2 years of financial assistance in paying both housing and tuition towards a technical or trade school.
Plan C will be for those who choose to study at the University level, and will receive financial assistance both for housing and tuition for a total of 4 years.
Those participating in this program will be required to report to Emmanuel once a month. They will receive their living expenses personally and will also have the opportunity to receive counseling, encouragement, and prayer support for any difficulties they may be having.
SPONSOR ONE OF OUR YOUTH!
A sponsorship program has been set up to fund this project and allow friends and loved ones to be involved and support the youth as they begin their transition to adult life. Please note that the Next Step Scholarship sponsorship is separate from regular sponsorship of children living at the orphanage. The sponsorship fee is $50 per month, and can be paid either through check or direct deposit. "Scholarship Child #" should always be marked on payments to indicate their designation. You may send a direct deposit form to Rick Tabor via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or you may send a check to:
715 Moores Mill Drive
Auburn, AL 36830 U.S.A.
*Please designate donations to the general scholarship fund as "Scholarship" in the memo line.*
Thank you for your love and support of the children at Emmanuel!
