Next Step Scholarship Program
Emmanuel began its Next Step Scholarship Program in 2014 to assist youth in their transition from the orphanage to independent life outside. There are currently ten youth that qualify for the program, and eight more that will reach eligibility within the next year. Our current candidates are:
Elvia Marina Garcia Erazo #1021
German Lorenzo Perez #168
Miguel Rafael Maradiaga Sanchez #25
In order to be involved in this program, youth must:
- be at least 18 years of age
- have completed their formal education (Junior High or High School)
- have given one year of service back to Emmanuel after graduation.
Youth will choose between three options as they begin their transition out of the orphanage.
Plan A is financial assistance for housing only, which will last a duration of 6 months.
Plan B includes 2 years of financial assistance in paying both housing and tuition towards a technical or trade school.
Plan C will be for those who choose to study at the University level, and will receive financial assistance both for housing and tuition for a total of 4 years.
Those participating in this program will be required to report to Emmanuel once a month. They will receive their living expenses personally and will also have the opportunity to receive counseling, encouragement, and prayer support for any difficulties they may be having.
