A Word from David & Lydia
God had not only a plan but a vision for all mankind and that was to have constant fellowship and relationship with Him. Those of you who have read the Bible know the story of how the fall of man began. God had so much love for man whom He created after His own image that He gave not just one of his sons, but His ONLY Son as a living sacrifice for all humanity to have a second chance to have fellowship with Him!
This is a testimony to share for all who will read this. A testimony of faith, hope, and love. Truly the greatest of these is love because that is what Emmanuel was founded on. In 1983, while sitting in a Bible study one evening, the Lord gave me this vision: The Lord took me on top of a mountain and while I was standing there looking out at the sun, I noticed that the sun was drawing closer to me and I asked the Lord, "What are you showing me?" He replied, "Wait and I will show you." Again, the sun drew closer to me and once again I asked the Lord, "What are you showing me?" As the sun still drew closer I began to see children...dead children. Then the Lord spoke to me saying, "I want you to feed and clothe my children and raise them up in my ways so that they might be seeds of the gospel." In 1987 Lydia and I left everything to come and live in Honduras. It was on December 22, 1989 that Emmanuel was born. It broke God's heart to hear the cries of children unwanted by society that were being rejected and neglected by man. In Psalms 27:10 (Amplified version) it says, "Although my father and mother have forsaken me, the Lord will take me up." This is our mandate and Emmanuel is the reality of this vision. If God has given you a vision, hold tight to it and wait--don't lose it! If you aren't sure about what He is telling you, ask Him to make it clear and known to you. Take your first step and He will show you your next step. He is faithful and so must you be. Habakkuk 2:3 says, "For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end: it will not deceive or disappoint. Though it tarry, wait for it, because it will surely come; it will not be behind hand on its appointed day." - David & Lydia Martinez, Founders |
