Doris came to Emmanuel for the first time in 2003 to see the work being done here and to find a way to serve. In the beginning, she assisted David and Lydia with the paperwork of the container and other administrative tasks, but she helped Emmanuel from Tegucigalpa and only really came to visit every now and then. In June of 2016, she felt in her heart God calling her to be more involved in Emmanuel, specifically in working with the power company in Honduras to resolve a large debt in energy. While she felt very content in her life, she felt like God was calling her to step outside of her comfort zone. At first, she was working in the toddler house while helping with administrative tasks and errands. She is now the primary administrator in the office, dealing with the social authorities, government agencies, legal work, and other private institutions. She also helps in the medium girls house with the girls with special needs.
Her favorite part about being at Emmanuel is walking with and having fellowship with the children of Emmanuel.
