Bent & Cathrine Petersen
Bent and Cathrine recently came back from Denmark with
their newborn son Josva (Joshua). Bent and Cathrine first got to know Emmanuel
in 2003 as they newly wed traveled to Honduras and volunteered 5 months
at the orphanage. Later on in 2007 when Cathrine had got her degree in Social
Counseling they once again traveled to Honduras. This time to settle down
and find out what God would call them to do in Honduras. In January 2009 Bent and
Cathrine became the house parents of Emmanuel’s Transition Home in the capital Tegucigalpa. A group of
young girls from the orphanage moved in and received training in budgeting,
decision making, independency, getting around the capital, etc.
After a group of Transition Home boys in 2010 Bent and Cathrine are now back at Emmanuel. Bent, who is a skilled carpenter, is working at the Wood Shop during the day and spends his mornings and afternoons at the older boys house overseeing the boys. Cathrine is working with the Youth Community Project while taking care of baby Josva. |
